Develop awareness through conscious listening

In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of our own lives. We're so busy trying to keep up with everything that's going on around us, that we forget to stop and be present with the people in our lives.

Taking the time to truly listen to others can be incredibly beneficial not only to them but also to ourselves.  When we get quiet and truly listen to others, we open ourselves up to a wealth of knowledge and understanding about them.

We learn about their perspectives, experiences, and their struggles. In turn, this can help us to empathize with them and build stronger relationships.

But listening isn't just about hearing what someone else has to say. It's also about reflecting on what we've heard and understanding how it relates to us. After a conversation with someone, take the time to reflect on what was said and journal any questions or concerns we have. By doing this, we can gain insight into our own thoughts and feelings, and really begin to understand the thoughts and feelings of others.

It's also important to put away our distractions when we're with others. We've all been guilty of checking our phones or emails during a conversation, but this sends a message to the other person that they're not important enough to have our undivided attention. By putting away our distractions and fully focusing on the person in front of us, we show them that they matter and that we care about what they have to say.

So, I challenge you to take time to get quiet and truly listen to someone in your life. Put away your phone and other distractions, and be fully present with them. Reflect on the conversation. By doing so, you may just find that your relationships grow stronger and that you learn something new about yourself in the process.
